Comfortably Numb

James Shearer

The title of today's column should ring a bell for anyone who is over the age of 30 or has ever listened to Pink Floyd. But this is not a story about heroin addiction.

The other night I attended a type of event called a board connection. It's where non-profits like ours go to find and recruit new board members. …To The Supper Club: A Meal Fit For a King or a Queen.

Sheila Callahan

The 6pm Supper Club on Church Street at First Parish in Cambridge opens its palace gate every Tuesday. Noblemen, along with the tattered and broken, princesses, along with the abused, oppressed and forsaken, enter the dining hall.

The Tea Party Express Lands in Boston

Amanda Fakhreddine

BOSTON – About 5,000 people gathered at the Boston Common on Wednesday April 14th, to see a tea party. Thousands of people raised their flags and signs, in support of or against the “Tea Party Express” that was en route to Washington DC on Tax Day.

Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska, headlined the event. Addressing the crowd for about 20 minutes, she urged the people of Boston to take a stand against liberals.

“We are the true Americans,” yelled Palin to a crowd that simultaneously applauded in support and booed in disagreement.

Food Not Bombs: Bursting With Nutrition & Flavor

Robert Sondak

In Cambridge in the 1980s, a group of anti-nuclear activists who were protesting the nearby Seabrook power plant began spray painting the slogan "Money for Food Not Bombs" on local buildings. This slogan was later shortened to "Food Not Bombs" and adopted by a local activist group that supports homeless people.
